I wanted to sit on the rooftop but I was out voted. We sat downstairs and had a great service. This a nice, a little upscale and bit pricey restaurant in downtown Charleston. Right in the middle of the fun. I ordered the smashed beyond burger as it wasn't a lot of vegetarian choices, but this was a really good burger and the sweet potato fries were also good. We ordered the rosemary bread and cheese bread. Came out hot and they were both tasty. The only disappointment was the avocado tempura, it lacked seasoning and taste. This was the table consensus. Entrees at the table included the short ribs, duck and lamb shank and all had high remarks. I would return and sit on the rooftop.

We had a brief visit at the bar area. The bread and the drinks were good. Bartender was very nice and accommodating. Great location on King street.

Awesome upstairs bar! Strong drinks with good flavor. My favorite is the passion fruit margarita. Happy Hour menu downstairs is such a vibe! The mussels were out of this world! Would definitely come again!

Stars is a cool location in downtown Charleston. Yes it's a rooftop bar but I would say 4 stories up is really a rooftop, regardless, they have decent views of the area and the drinks are pretty good. We haven't tried the food yet but have been to the rooftop a few times. I would recommend it if you are in the area, bartenders are friendly and make the drinks pretty strong!

Love this little hideaway spot. This is the perfect time of year to have a drink at the rooftop. Sunday afternoons there is music which fits this relaxing vibe. The view makes it extra special as you can see across the city, and when the sun goes down it could be your New Romantic spot.

Had a larger group for an evening meal with Stars, and everything was just as expected, with a little extra! For starters, our waiter Alex was very patient and willing to serve us with a smile on his face and wit to share. The ambience of the place at the time was delicate, quiet, and warm. The decor embodies "high-end" and emits a comfy mood with the lighting being on the dimmer side. I ordered a Ribeye and a side of truffle mashed potatoes, both of which were delicious! The ribeye was cooked PERFECTLY to medium rare, very tender, and came with a sauce that was to die for. Overall, fantastic experience!

Charleston gets no better than Stars. How about wood fired ribeye cooked on the loin, finished and cut to order. The meat was perfectly seasoned and had a great wood smoke undertone. Full bar and energetic servers. There is an upstairs open air bar that is great for happy hour and enjoy spring/summer/fall weather. Great for groups!

We had a large group (conference attendees) and the restaurant was prepared for us to arrive. The service was wonderful. The young service staff was attentive even though the restaurant was packed. Don't know if management brought in extra staff for our group but they were fantastic! Our group was given a specific menu where we could choose our main and dessert and we made our choices before we even arrived. Smart to do it this way. My salmon was perfectly cooked. The veg and potatoes were good as well along with the dessert. If I'm ever back in Charleston, I will try this place again.

My husband and I decided to drive down to Charleston for the Memorial Day holiday. We tried a couple of restaurants downtown but landed on Stars Rooftop & Grill. Although we didn't have a reservation we were seated immediately and Alec was our server. I ordered the rotisserie chicken which came with asparagus and a delicious Dijon mustard sauce. I ordered a side of truffle whipped mashed potatoes that my husband and I shared. Hubby decided to order the beef short rib with peas & corn risotto. Everything was delicious and Alec did a great job! There weren't many people in the restaurant when we came in, but several parties of people entered while we were there. There is also a rooftop bar that is outdoors and a large amount of people went up and came down while we were there. They only serve drinks upstairs and the food downstairs. I'm not a big drinker nor do I like being outside much so I don't get any pictures). The food was flavorful and came out in a timely manner. Both of our meals totaled $92.00 (that did not include our sweet teas because Alec removed them from our bill). We would definitely come back!
